After the grand success of Drishti 2011,Antardrishti today announced
the schedule of Drishti 2012 creative contest to be held in Agra for the
promotion of eye donation. Like previous year entries are invited in
four categories i.e. Short Film,Poster,Design and Audio Jingle on the
theme of eye donation.
Agra will remain the capital of
Antardrishti for its work for the promotion of eye donation and the
final culmination of the contest will be held in the city with prize
distribution ceremony and a two-day film festival. Shortlisted films and
selected entries of other three creative contests will be showcased
during the festival. Besides film show and exhibition of creative
contest entries other attractions of the festival would be performances
and presentations by visually impaired students and artists across the
country. Highlighing the acheivements of Drishti 2011,team member Deepti
Pant said that this year participation is expected to be bigger than
the previous year.
Festival will be held in the month of
October,2012 and exact date and schedule of the festival would be
announced two months prior to the festival so that volunteers willing to
participate from other parts of country can make their travel
arrangements.
Last date of the submitting the entries in all four
categories is 10th August,2012. Any citizen of India irrespective of age
can participate in the contest. There is no entry fee for the contest.
To provide a level play field only individuals are allowed to
participate in the contest and entries from productions houses and
organizations shall not be entertained. A three member independent jury
of noted professional and imminent citizens will screen all entries and
decide Golden Eye and Silver Eye in all four categories. Forms and

Drishti Yatra 2011
has already got a kick start from Kendriya Hindi Sansthan,Agra with an
overwhelming response and participation. In these Drishti Yatras short
listed films of previous year’s film contest are being screened with
presentation and other activities for the promotion of eye donation.
Drishti Yatra 2011 will visit 13 major cities across India with similar
programmes. Cities of current year Drishti Yatra include
Delhi,Mumbai,Bangalore,Chennai,Hyderabad,Kolkata,Luknow,Patna etc. With
the objective for the promotion of eye donation Drishti is seeking
coordination with local eye banks and hospitals. In these Yatras so far
468 people have volunteered themselves for the eye donations and issued
certificates.
While addressing the Press Conference Drishti 2012
team member and senior journalist Mr Prashant Tandon said that coming
months will see further expansion of programmes for the promotion of eye
donation and more active associations with like-minded volunteers and
organizations. He told media persons that many such proposals have been
received and are under active consideration keeping in view of large
area of work to be done in this field.
Golden Eye winner Nivedtia Majumdar joins the team:
Mr
Akhil Srivastava CEO of Antardrishti – a non profit organization behind
Drishti 2012 announced inclusion of Nivedita Majumdar as the member of
core team. Nivedita is the winner of Drishti 2011 Golden Eye award for
her film “Ritu wants 2 C”. Welcoming Nivedita on board Mr Srivastava
said that Ms Majumdar will add new dimension to the work undertaken by
us with her devotion to the cause and outstanding skills. Nivedita
Majumdar -a film maker and classical dancer lives in Kolkata.
Drishti 2011 was
the first ever film and creative contest and festival on promotion of
eye donation held in Agra on December 10 and 11,2011 at St Johns College
with an excellent participation by all sections of people of Agra.
